Congratulations to Ms. Allison Anthony and Mr. Len Orange, the
Golden Apple Award winners for October! These two teachers have earned special recognition
for their hard work and dedication. They received Golden Apple lapel pins and special parking spaces throughout the
month. Great job, teachers!
Congratulations to the Hermitage Marching
Panthers! The Marching Band has accepted an invitation to perform in the
Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade next December. This is an invitation only event where the Marching Panthers will represent
the Commonwealth of Virginia for the 50th anniversary of the Arizona Memorial. The Marching Panthers are representing
the many veterans that served from Virginia. The parade will feature 10 of the best high school bands from across the
country. We are truly humbled and honored to be asked to participate.
Library News - Panther Pause The library hosted our second
Panther Pause Café on December 8th. Our Hermitage band students serenaded us with holiday selections. Mini-cinnabons
were provided by Carvel and enjoyed by all. We will be hosting a student event each month during Panther Time!
The Interact Club is looking
for community service opportunities! The Interact Club is a community service organization at Hermitage High School.
The club is partnered with the Richmond Rotary Club and they help out with many different events around town. So far
this year the club has helped raise money for the National Alliance on Mental Illness, helped with activities at the Children's
Museum Spooky Halloween, and created stepping stones for local fire departments through Art on Wheels. The club also
has plans to help at Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens and Habitat for Humanity, but they are looking for more opportunities
to help out in our community. If you know of an organization in need of volunteers please contact Ms. Kitt at sdkitt@henrico.k12.va.us.
